Bridesmaids Dresses
VERY FORMAL WEDDING The bridesmaids and honor attendants wear elegant floor-length dresses. In a formal wedding the bridesmaids almost always wear gloves to complement short or sleeveless looks. Wrist-length white gloves are usually the most attractive. The shoes should be simple and match the mood and color of the dresses. The jewelry should be light and delicate. FORMAL WEDDINGS For a formal wedding, the bridesmaids dresses and honor attendants dresses should be floor length with complimentary shoes. Gloves are optional for a formal wedding. If your wedding is small or early in the day, street-length or cocktail-length dresses are a possibility.
SEMIFORMAL WEDDINGS The bridesmaids and honor attendants wear street-length or very simple long dresses that complement that of the bride. Shoes and jewelry should complement the dresses. Bridesmaids and honor attendants may carry small bouquets.
INFORMAL WEDDINGS At informal weddings, there is normally just one honor attendant, who would dress in a style similar to that of the bride.
Proper dress depends on the hour and the season. Your bridesmaids and honor attendants will look wonderful coming down the aisle if all the dresses are similar. You and your honor attendant can shop for the dresses. Do not get all of your bridesmaids invovled in the initial selection of the dresses...It will turn out to be a disaster. You will have too many different taste that you will have to narrow down and you will most likely hurt someone's feelings. As mentioned above, YOU MAKE THE INITIAL SELECTION OF THE DRESSES. Select at least three dresses that you find appropriate. After selecting the dresses, then get the bridesmaids involved. Let the bridesmaids make the final decision, since they are, most likely, buying their own dresses.
