Popular Shower Themes

Shower Themes are basically up to the hostess. There are a variety of showers that can be given. You can go with some of the popular ones or you can be original and create a theme. I have listed a few of the popular themes below.....

• KITCHEN THEME - Kitchen showers are very popular because of everything in this category the couple can use. The new couple will most likely need everythin from pots, pans, small appliances, silverware, glassware, mops, brooms, etc. You can get very creative by asking each guest to bring a favorite recipe to pass along to the bride along with one item needed for preperation. For example...your favorite exotic smoothie recipe along with a blender.



• LINGERIE THEME - Lingerie showers are also popular and are usually for females only. Lingerie showers are not always about frilly, skimpy lingerie. Guest can also consider bringing gift certificates for bath and body products or spa treatments. You can include the groom-to-be by giving a "Couple's Spa" gift certificate. They will both need, appreciate, and enjoy a spa treatment together.



• Around-The-Clock Theme - Each guest is assigned an hour of the day and is encouraged to bring a gift to match that hour. The hour can be listed on the invitation. The gift should reflect something that is normally done during the time listed on their invitation. For example, 7am - Two coffe mugs or a nice alarm clock OR 9pm - nice lingerie or a set of wine glasses.

When several showers are planned, the guest list should be different for each so no one ends up feeling obligated to buy several gifts. Afterall, most of the quests will also be purchasing a wedding gift and if they are a part of the wedding party...wedding attire too!! So be considerate when planning showers.....If you plan more than one, don't include the guests.
