Planning A Wedding

Planning a wedding can be a daunting task, especially if you are planning a wedding on a budget. A beautiful formal wedding takes six to ten months to plan. It can even take up to a year in large cities or suburbs. Small intimate weddings can take two to three months of planning. However, before you begin to plan your wedding, you need to decide three important things: WHEN, WHERE, and HOW you will marry.

June is usually the most popular wedding month, followed by August, July, September, May, October, and December. Carefully think things through when deciding on a date. Make sure you plan your wedding well in advance if you plan to choose a date in one of the popular months. Caterers, Photograhers, Reception Halls, etc. are frequently overbooked during the popular months.

The earlier you begin to plan your wedding, the more time you will have to secure a location, compare services, and choose those that fit within your wedding budget. Careful, detailed planning is the most essential element in planning the perfect wedding. Sit down with the groom-to-be and decide on some general priorities. SPRING, SUMMER, WINTER or FALL

You probably already have a season in mind. Each season has it's virtures and also it's drawbacks. For example, planning a wedding in the summer, many friends may be on vacation just when you've planned your day. OR If you love the beauty of the winter months, winter snowstorms can cause transportation problems. Regardless, you should choose a season that works best for the both of you and for your families.

DATES

Always start with several dates. If you are planning a small wedding, you may choose a weekday without much concern. On the other hand, if you are planning a larger wedding, Saturday or Sunday would probably be your best choice so that you will avoid conflicts with other people's schedules.

After selecting a date, check with an official of your church or synagogue to make sure the date is available. You may want to check and erify several dates because the date needs to be available at the church and the reception hall you select.

TIME AND PLACE

The time of day for your wedding may be influenced by where you live, what religion you practice, or what wedding style you've selected.

It's customary for the wedding ceremony to take place in your hometown; however, there are many options for you. You can choose almost any location for your wedding.
