Getting Engaged!! He "pops" the question.......Will You Marry Me?

You're engaged!! It can happen so suddenly!! Your head is spinning just thinking of the ideas and plans that you have ahead of you. But first, you'll want to share the news with your family and friends. Telling everyone is just the beginning of all the fun of the wedding.

The first persons to hear the exciting news should be the bride-to-be parents, then the groom-to-be parents. After this, a general announcement can be made to relatives and close friends.

How you go about letting them in on the good news is up to you.

It is important to keep the flames burning before and after marriage. The Intimate Couple is a great website to view....Great articles and ideas on keeping your relationship intimate!!!

After the Engagement.....What Now?

As a man and woman who have agreed to marry, you are about to take on one of life's most rewarding adventures. In today's society, no one thinks marriage is easy any longer. We have tons of statistics to prove that failure is possible, and problems are definitely probable. And yet we are eager to get married.....Why? Because marriage is the best (although not perfect) institution of total personal commitment. And without commitment, most of us feel empty and unfulfilled.

Your engagement can be as long as you need or want it to be. There is no "right" length of time. Saying "I Do" and "tying the knot" is a big step. Make sure you are ready!!

Once your families are informed, an announcement can be sent to your local newspaper if you wish.

Here are some things you should do after you say "YES"!!

  • Discuss your budget with your fiance'
  • Discuss the invitation list( How many people?)
  • Discuss the size wedding you will have ( How many attendants?)
  • Discuss a wedding date

The more organized you are, the easier your planning will be and the less stressed you will be.
